Comice Pears

Noted for their juicy sweetness and creamy texture, comice pears are sure to please when used in recipes, and especially when simply eaten fresh or out-of-hand. Try comice sliced and paired with your favorite cheese for a delicious snack.  Handle comice pears gently, as their thin skins make them prone to bruising.  To test for ripeness, apply gently pressure to the neck; if it gives slightly, the pear is ready to eat.
